Migrants are no longer a marginal group in Vienna but constitute an essential element of the local population. There are currently more than 550,000 foreigners living in Vienna. Most of them by far come from Serbia, Turkey and Germany.

Matters concerning integration lie within the competence of Municipal Department 17 - Integration and Diversity (MA 17). If you want to take up residence in Vienna, you need to contact Municipal Department 35 - Immigration and Citizenship.
