Online reservation of wedding dates at register offices

You can make a reservation online or in person for your wedding date or for the day you would like to enter into a civil partnership.

An online reservation is only possible 29 days from the day you make your reservation. You cannot choose a wedding date in the next 28 days as this is not enough advance notice.

After the reservation

You will receive a confirmation by e-mail, fax or post as soon as the register office has made the reservation. The wedding date will be reserved for you for 14 days. Within these two weeks you will have to make an appointment at the register office of your choice and submit all necessary documents to give notice of marriage or enter into a civil partnership.

Your definite wedding date will be fixed then.

Primary residence outside Austria

If both partners do not have their primary residence in Austria you cannot make an online reservation for your wedding date. Please contact the Division for International Weddings at the register office for the 9^th district (Standesamt Wien-Zentrum) in Vienna.
