Data privacy information pursuant to Article 13 GDPR - Women’s Emergency Helpline
Please note that the data you have provided will be processed for the following purposes on the following legal bases:
- Purpose: Counselling by the City of Vienna 24-Hour Women’s Emergency Helpline
- Legal basis:
- Consent of the data subject pursuant to Article 6 (1) (a) of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), OJ L 119 of 4.5.2016,
- Allocation of business of the Vienna City administration, OJ No. 2018/01 as amended.
No register queries are made in the course of the proceedings.
Personal data are not transmitted.
Please note, however, that if we suspect a concrete, significant risk to the well-being of a child, and if such cannot be prevented in any other way, we are obliged under section 37 of the Federal Child and Youth Welfare Act 2013 to notify the local child and youth welfare institution responsible (in Vienna: Municipal Department 11).
Please also note that in case of imminent danger due to a life-threatening acute situation, we are obliged, complying with our general duty of care, to forward personal data to the respective responsible institution (e.g. police, ambulance, fire department).
Data are not transmitted to third countries (non-EU member states).

Owing to a statutory obligation (File Shredding Regulations of the Vienna City Administration (MD-OS-104/2010) in conjunction with the Filing and Shredding Plan of MA 57 of 1 January 2013 as amended, your personal data will be deleted seven years following the last contact.
You have a right of access to your personal data, as well as a right to rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, or to object to the processing of data.
You have the right to revoke your consent at any time; please note however that, given your consent, processing was lawful until revocation.
If you are of the opinion that your rights are not, or not sufficiently, complied with, you have the possibility to file a complaint with the data protection authority.
The provision of personal data is contractually required, unless counselling is provided anonymously at the client’s request.
If you do not provide your personal data, counselling can only be provided on an anonymous basis and would have the following consequences:
If counselling is provided anonymously by telephone or in person, we cannot make a clear assignment to an entry in the database when you contact us again. In this case, you would have to describe your situation again in a follow-up contact and/or present your request again.
