Over 10,000 participants attended the international startup festival. The proportion of international startups rose to almost 70 percent in 2024.

Europe's most diverse startup festival presents an extraordinary first result. More than 10,000 people from over 90 nations, including Brazil, Chile, China, India and Japan, networked at more than 80 events in Vienna.

For Peter Hanke, Vienna's Executive City Councillor of Finance, Business, Labour, International Affairs and Vienna Public Utilities, ViennaUP shows that the city's international strategy is successful: "ViennaUP is a turbo for the international positioning of the location. The proportion of international startups has increased from 45 percent last year to almost 70 percent this year".

33 locations in 11 districts of Vienna ensured that the founders, investors, tech enthusiasts, creatives and talents travelling to ViennaUP 2024 were able to get to know and experience the city.

40 programme partners were involved in the main topics such as social entrepreneurship, climate protection, artificial intelligence, the potential of digital technologies for an environmentally conscious urban society and the creative industries.
