Film Festival on Rathausplatz

For more than 30 years the film festival on Rathausplatz, the square in front of Vienna City Hall, has taken place during the summer months. The unique location attracts around 900,000 visitors each summer to enjoy the special atmosphere, listen to selected musical highlights and indulge in the many international culinary delights. This year’s festival takes place from 29 June to 1 September 2024.

The music programme starts at nightfall and includes operas, operettas, classical, pop and jazz concerts as well as musical, ballet and contemporary dance performances.

In addition, the music programme is rounded off with excellent cuisine: top restaurateurs of the city provide the music lovers with an international selection of delicious foods and drinks at numerous stalls from 11 am to 12 midnight.
