Through her group “Wiener Brut”, she showcases her varied programme from the metropolis on the Danube. When it comes to Hohenberger’s songs, only one thing is certain: nothing. Wiener Brut has heart, knows how to groove, and sings in the best Viennese style, with imprecise precision that is always able to adapt to any given situation.

Vienna is the only capital city in the world to boast noteworthy winegrowing operations within its city limits. With that in mind, it seems only logical for the city to have a yearly ceremony that awards prizes to its best wines and honours its outstanding winemakers. The awards ceremony for the Vienna Wine Awards 2024 will take place on the festival stage in front of Vienna City Hall. All state winners and nominees can be savoured at the wine bar.

The duo sings about city life using Viennese puns and turns of phrase while celebrating the pleasures of one’s living room and Viennese coffee house nostalgia. The album explores the theme of retreating to the basement as a place of cosiness and relaxation amid the hectic nature of the city.

In May 2020, Sibylle Kefer, Marlene Lacherstorfer, Maria Petrova and Ernst Molden recorded their second album at Cselleymühle (a former mill turned cultural/activities centre). Despite the conditions imposed upon them by the pandemic, ten wild songs were forged under the heat and pressure of the circumstances. The band named the album “NEICHE ZEID” and will be showcasing some of its songs as part of #wienliebe. A special guest will also be on stage to provide support for the finale...

Brass music has a long tradition throughout Austria. Five brass bands will be showing off all their skills and treating the audience to marches, polkas and waltzes. Look forward to rousing rhythms, traditional melodies and a very special musical experience!

Those taking part include: Post und Telekom Musik Wien, the Music Corps of the LAZARUS UNION and Blasmusik Don Bosco Neuerdberg.

Sunday, 26 May will see the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the ÖBJ (Österreichische Blasmusikjugend, or Austria Youth Brass Band) at a festive matinee. From 11:00, four youth wind orchestras from the federal capital as well as the national winners of the youth wind orchestra competition will perform in the Arkadenhof of Vienna City Hall.
