Integration and Diversity inside Municipal Departments
As an open, diverse and international city Vienna is proud of its diversity. Different languages, backgrounds and experiences influence all areas of city life. To manage, promote and take advantage of the diversity at hand the city of Vienna has made the implementation of integration-oriented diversity management one of its major tasks.
Integration-oriented diversity management
The integration-oriented diversity management of the City of Vienna primarily deals with the dimension "ethnic and socio-cultural background" in connection with age and gender. The aim is to provide all target groups of the City Administration with tailored services. The diversity and ethnic backgrounds of the population should also be reflected in the workforce of the City Administration.
The following strategies are currently realized to implement diversity management and take advantage of the diversity at hand:
- Raising awareness among executives
- Further training of employees
- Optimising products and services
Involvement of Municipal Department 17
It is one of the main tasks of the Municipal Department 17 - Integration and Diversity (MA 17) to further strategies and services promoting diversity management inside the city administration.
