Alternatively, you can apply for automatic receipt of voting cards. In this case, you will receive a voting card automatically for all elections at the federal level for as long as you are registered in the electoral roll/the European electoral roll as an Austrian citizen living abroad without the need to apply for voting cards individually. If you did not apply for this together with your application for registration in the electoral roll / European electoral roll, please write an email requesting this with a copy of your Austrian passport or a photo ID and the Austrian citizenship certificate attached to the Vienna electoral roll office ("Wiener Wählerevidenz"): wahl@ma62.wien.gv.at
Providing an email address for information purposes
If you are an Austrian citizen living abroad and are eligible to vote in Vienna, you can give the competent electoral service ("Wahlservice") your email address. You will then receive information about upcoming elections at this email address. This can help avoid long postal delivery times.
Changing your postal address for the receipt of voting cards and/or your email address
Please make sure to inform the competent electoral service of any changes to your postal address (for the receipt of voting cards) and/or your email address (for information), otherwise you may not receive the necessary information or the voting card for elections and may not be able to exercise your right to vote.
